Älggialp – Mittelpunkt der Schweiz

Der geografische Mittelpunkt der Schweiz liegt auf 1645 m auf der malerischen Älggialp. Ermittelt 1988 zum 150-jährigen Bestehen der Schweizerischen Landestopografie. Eine Triangulationspyramide, umgeben von einer kleinen Steinmauer in dem Umriss der Schweiz, markiert den Mittelpunkt. Die Älggialp liegt auf Gemeindegebiet Sachseln.

1820/1 wurde die St. Anna-Kapelle mit angegliedertem Pfarrhaus erbaut. Sie gehört zur Pfarrei Sachseln.
